Welcome to Year 2!

Welcome Year 2, we are glad you’re here!

We are going to have a wonderful year.

We’ll draw and we’ll write, we’ll sing and we’ll play.

We’ll paint and we’ll build and learn new things each day!

We are looking forward to having a wonderful year with you in Year 2. Each morning we will have lessons in Phonics, English and Maths and in the afternoon we will go on our learning adventures where our first topic will be ‘My World and Me’ followed by ‘Guy Fawkes and The Gunpowder Plot’ after half term.

It certainly is going to be a fantastic year!

Children will be given a reading book and diary to bring home. Please sign their diary each time you listen to them read at home and send this in each day. Diaries will be checked daily with books changed when necessary.

You could support your child at home by:

• Listening to them read as often as possible.
• Joining the library.
• Practice counting in 2, 5 and 10.
• Practice counting to 100.

Our PE day is a Wednesday, so please come to school wearing the right PE Kit.

We would like you read with an adult at home 3 times per week. Children who read 3 times a week will be entered in a half termly reading raffle.
