Our Local Academy Committee
School governors are people who want to make a positive contribution to children’s education. Governors are one of the largest volunteer forces in the country and have an important part to play in raising school standards. As an Academy our Governors are known as the Local Academy Committee (LAC).
The role of the Local Academy Committee is absolutely key to the effectiveness of a academy. Time and time again Ofsted (the national inspection body for schools) has noted that the most effective schools demonstrate effective leadership and management – including by the Local Academy Committee.
From 1/12/22 an Executive Local Academy Committee is in place across Churchfield CE Primary Academy and St James CE Primary Academy, Longdon (both part of St Chad’s Academies Trust and executive model.)
Our Executive Local Academy Committee is made up of:
- Chair of LAC – Miss K. Taylor
- Vice Chair of LAC – Mrs R. Walmsley
- Executive Principal – Mr C. Dobson
- LAC members- Mr G. Hammersley, Mrs J. White, Mrs K. Clayton
