Early Years
Welcome to Early Years at Churchfield! We are a small and devoted family unit who pride ourselves in our family ethos, where all children feel safe and valued.
We are proud to of received Outstanding in our latest Ofsted report with inspectors finding;
“The curriculum in the early years is exceptionally well planned and considers the needs of all pupils. Helping pupils to develop a rich vocabulary, a love of books, and a strong understanding of early mathematical skills is well embedded into the curriculum and practice in these classes. Children in the early years get off to an exceptionally good start in school. When they leave the Reception class, they are ready for the key stage 1 curriculum.”
Our Early Years setting caters for children aged 2 upwards. We have 3 phases; little scholars, Nursery and Caterpillars (Reception). Little Scholars caters for our 2-year-olds and prepares them for entry into our morning Nursery, where they learn as part of a mixed phased unit. Then they make the move up into our Reception (Caterpillars) class. Our team all work very closely together making sure we are always providing exciting and engaging topics and activities for the children across their Early Years journey.
We pride ourselves on the various learning opportunities we provide across all Early Years classes including Forest Day, Outdoor adventures, Local environment and community visits and exciting Enrichments days. We also invite parents and carers into classrooms regularly to see their children in action and join in with the fun!
Our fantastic school grounds, small class sizes and exciting learning opportunities in and outside of the classroom make Churchfield one of a kind! Our family ethos runs throughout the school we’d love you to book a visit to come and see for yourself.
